SURE FOOT Equine Full Physiopad

SURE FOOT Equine Full Physiopad

SURE FOOT Equine Full Physiopad

(1)
€ 240,00

SURE FOOT Full Physiopad (23.5 x 16 x 1.5) has two working surfaces:  1″ SURE FOOT Hard, and 1/2″ SURE FOOT Medium.

Full Physiopad – Two Hooves at once

Genuine SURE FOOT Equine FULL PHYSIOPAD consists of 1” Hard material color-coded with Orange DuraFlex, stamped with the official SURE FOOT logo), and ½” gray Medium material. The FULL PHYSIOPAD is packaged individually along with a Warranty Card registration form and QR code.

This pad and the smaller HALF PHYSIOPAD are the only SURE FOOT pads which are made from composite pad materials; Hard and Medium. Either side of the pad may be used. These are designed to provide comfort and stability, not to challenge the horse’s balance.

The PHYSIOPADS (originally called the Farrier Pad) were designed for farriers and trimmers, to help horses stand in comfort without having to balance on a 2” thick pad or be challenged by different SURE FOOT Equine Pads. A calm, quiet horse is easier to work on and requires less time. More importantly when the horse is comfortable everyone is safer: horse, handler and hoof-care provider.

Horses can have one hoof or two on the FULL PHYSIOPAD (both front or hind hooves). For two hooves, horses can be stepped onto the pad and less likely to move if bumped. I can also be used to overcome mounting problems by placing it at the mounting block and asking the horse to stand on it.

The PHYSIOPAD is great for Equine Professionals to use as a treatment pad for the horse, especially while standing to hold horses or kneeling-down especially on hard surfaces. This pad can provide greater relief from standing for long periods of time.

  • Pads are suitable for use on any surface with horses that are shod, bare foot and/or wearing boots.
  • Pads will show wear over time. Nicks, tears and cuts are considered normal wear and tear and do not limit the effects of the pads in any way.

Genuine SURE FOOT Equine FIRM SLANT Pads are Yellow DuraFlex coating top stamped with the official SURE FOOT logo and charcoal on the other. They are made of the same material as the FIRM Pad cut on an angle. They are packaged in pairs along with a Warranty Registration Card and QR code.

FIRM SLANTS will give more under the horse’s weight than HARD SLANTS. This is beneficial to many horses because they can yield laterally – similar to the FIRM pads – depending upon where the hoof is along the slant thickness.

FIRM SLANTS may be used on either side; however, the pad is more stable when used colored side up. FIRM SLANTS may be used in any direction, heel high, heel low, or laterally (supination or pronation). Horses may stand anywhere along the angle of the pad from the thin leading edge to the full height (up to 3”) at the back.

Horses that are particularly unsure or nervous benefit from using FIRM SLANTS because the horse can stand on the leading edge, which is very thin. They may be used under the front and hind hooves. Horses appear to prefer the FIRM SLANTS heel high. FIRM SLANTS may be comforting for horses with laminitis and arthritis, for those rehabilitating from stringhalt, shoulder, or pelvic injury, or those that have stifle or hoof concerns.

  • Pads are suitable for use on any surface with horses that are shod, barefoot, and/or wearing boots.
  • Pads will show wear over time. Nicks, tears, and cuts are considered normal wear and tear and do not limit the effects of the pads in any way.

Genuine SURE FOOT Equine FIRM Pads have Green DuraFlex coated top stamped with the official SURE FOOT logo and an are charcoal on the other side. They are packaged in pairs along with a Warranty Card registration form and QR code for immediate access to the SURE FOOT Equine website.

Choose the FIRM Pad for calm horses if you can only start with one density. It is the most versatile of the SURE FOOT Equine Pads. This flat Pad offers more lateral give than HARD but is not as challenging as MEDIUM and SOFT.

The FIRM Pad may be used with any size or weight horse who is typically calm and easily accepts new ideas. For horses over 17 hands and 1800 pounds the HARD Pad is recommended as the FIRM may compress too much to give sufficient feedback at first.

The FIRM Pad has two working surfaces; diffuse (green) and direct (charcoal) giving your horse two choices. Pads may be used same side up, or one up and one down. You can feel this difference yourself by standing barefooted with one foot on each surface.

Generally, FIRM is considered the starter pad – unless you have an anxious, weak or nervous horse, one rehabilitating from injury or accident, or returning to work after a long break. In these cases, you would start with the HARD pad to avoid overtaxing your horse in the beginning.

  • Pads are suitable for use on any surface with horses that are shod, barefoot and/or wearing boots.
  • Pads will show wear over time. Nicks, tears, and cuts are considered normal wear and tear and do not limit the effects of the pads in any way

HARD Pad – Gives Directly to Heat and Pressure

Genuine SURE FOOT Equine HARD Pads are made from one material. Color-coded on one side with Orange DuraFlex and stamped with the official SURE FOOT logo. The pads come packaged in pairs, along with a Warranty Card registration form and QR code for immediate access to the SURE FOOT Equine website. This pad has almost no lateral give making it the most stable SURE FOOT Equine Pad.

The HARD Pad was formerly called the “Impression” pad because it can show how the horse is weighting the hoof, providing key indicators for positive change. The HARD Pad gives under pressure so that the hoof finds its own level, which can be observed once the horse steps off.

The HARD Pad also makes an excellent tool for farriers and veterinarians in observing how the horse habitually stands, in determining corrective trimming and/or shoeing, and for improving treatment or post-injury rehabilitation. This image can be photographed to serve as a record of the hoof shape, structure, and weight distribution over time. By journaling results, follow-ups on the HARD Pad can show how patterns change – as a result of both: improvements in each horse’s own awareness via use over time; and corrective treatments and will not retain an imprint between uses.

The HARD Pad especially benefits horses beginning the SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program – particularly if the horse is unstable, weak, arthritic, anxious, nervous, on stall rest, receiving rehabilitation or returning to work after a long break. Because the material has no lateral give and will slowly yield to the horse’s weight, providing maximum stability – you can allow a horse to stand on the HARD Pad for quite a while – provided there is minimal swaying.

Pads are suitable for use on any surface with horses that are shod, barefoot, and/or wearing boots.

Pads will show wear over time. Nicks, tears, and cuts are considered normal wear and tear and do not limit the effects of the pads in any way

SURE FOOT Half Physiopad (12 x 16 x 1.5) is half the size of the SURE FOOT Full Physiopad with has two working surfaces:  1″ SURE FOOT Hard, and 1/2″ SURE FOOT Medium.

HALF PHYSIOPAD – Carry it with you wherever you go

The SURE FOOT HALF PHYSIOPAD measures 12”x16”x1.5, packaged individually and is constructed like the FULL PHYSIOPAD. Comparatively it is half the length (two HALF PHYSIOPADS is the equivalent of one FULL PHYSIOPAD). It consists of 1” Hard material color-coded with Orange DuraFlex (stamped with the official SURE FOOT logo), and ½” gray colored Medium material. The HALF PHYSIOPAD is packaged with a Warranty Card registration form and QR code for immediate access to the SURE FOOT Equine website for on-line product registration and education.

HALF PHYSIOPAD and the larger FULL PHYSIOPAD are the only SURE FOOT pads with a combination of two other Pads materials; Hard and Medium. Either surface may be used. The one-inch Hard side will give slowly, similar to the HARD Pad.

The Medium side has a different response from the Standard MEDIUM Pad – this layer is only a half-inch thick. It has a similar quality, but is not as springy as the standard pad, and does not challenge the horse’s balance. Instead it is simply a softer side, therefore PHYSIOPAD provides you with two very different surfaces which work extremely well as a single pad.

The HALF PHYSIOPAD is very useful as an introductory pad prior to using any of the Standard SURE FOOT Equine pads. It is a great choice to start with if you do not know the horse or are new to use yourself. Also, useful with horses unable to lift their hooves very far off the ground. It is a great choice for horses that are anxious or nervous when trailering (floating), or when at new venues. Better yet, the HALF PHYSIOPAD is travel size! As a bonus, the pad is also a comfy size for people – use it as a seat during sporting events, kneeling for work or gardening!

The PHYSIOPADS (originally called the Farrier Pad) were specifically designed for farriers and trimmers, to help horses stand in comfort without having to balance on a 2” thick pad or be have their balance challenged. A calm, quiet horse is easier to work with and requires less time. More importantly, when the horse is comfortable, everyone is safer: horse, handler and hoof-care provider.

This double-sided pad has become a favorite with equine rehabilitation practitioners choosing to use it before or during treatments such as acupuncture, chiropractic, massage and myofascial release to maintain stability, or after a treatment to help the horse relax.

PHYSIOPADS are great for Equine Professionals to use as a treatment pad for the horse while standing to hold horses or kneeling especially on hard surfaces. This pad is designed to provide relief from standing for long periods of time.

Pads are suitable for use on any surface with horses that are shod, bare foot and/or wearing boots. Pads will show wear over time. Nicks, tears and cuts are considered normal wear and tear and do not limit the effects of the pads in any way.

HARD SLANT PADS – Holds the Angle

Genuine SURE FOOT Equine HARD SLANT Pads are color-coded with Pink DuraFlex and stamped with the official SURE FOOT logo on one side, and ivory on the other side. They are packaged in pairs along with a Warranty Card registration form and QR code for immediate access to the SURE FOOT Equine website – for on-line product registration and education.

HARD SLANTS are made of the same material as the SURE FOOT HARD Pads, but cut on an angle. The HARD SLANTS may be used on either side; however, the pad is more stable used colored side up due to the angle it produces in relation to the ground. HARD SLANTS will give to heat and pressure but have no lateral give. Therefore they will, for the most part, maintain the angle under the weight of the horse. They can be used in any direction: heel-high, heel-low, or laterally (supination or pronation).

Horses can stand anywhere along the angle of the HARD SLANT Pads, from the thin leading edge to the full height (up to 3”) at the back. Horses that are particularly unsure or nervous benefit from using them this way as the horse can stand on the leading edge, which is very thin. This allows the horse an opportunity to experience the feeling without the full height of the SLANT Pads or the added height of the rectangular HARD pads.

Pads are suitable for use on any surface with horses that are shod, barefoot and/or wearing boots. Pads will show wear over time. Nicks, tears and cuts are considered normal wear and tear and do not limit the effects of the pads in any way.

Genuine SURE FOOT Equine MEDIUM Pads are color-coded with a darker purple DuraFlex top stamped with the official SURE FOOT logo and are brighter violet colored foam on the other side. They are packaged in pairs along with a Warranty Registration form and QR code for immediate access to the SURE FOOT Equine website for on-line product registration and education.

This MEDIUM Pad is very springy and is preferred by most people when they stand on SURE FOOT Equine pads. The spring is great for horses that tend to be a bit flat in their movement or are ready for a more challenging experience.

Generally, the MEDIUM Pads would be introduced after the horse has been on HARD or FIRM Pads. The spring can be somewhat off-putting for horses that have not been on SURE FOOT pads previously. However, once the horse has been on a more stable pad this is a great choice to challenge your horse’s balance a bit more. Mix the MEDIUM Pad in with other SURE FOOT Equine pads to offer a wide variety of experiences for your horse.

Pads are suitable for use on any surface with horses that are shod, barefoot, and/or wearing boots. Pads will show wear over time. Nicks, tears, and cuts are considered normal wear and tear and do not limit the effects of the pads in any way.

SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program Advanced Pods

SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program Advanced Pods

(0)
€ 45,00

The Pods – a great way to see how your horse habitually weights his hoof and allows him to explore new possibilities.

Pods are 7” diameter ½ round air-filled domes with nubs on the surface. They are considered an advanced SURE FOOT pad. The horse must be familiar and comfortable with standing on the other pads before attempting to use pods.

Target his hoof to the third row of nubs in order to center the hoof. As you lower the hoof allow the horse to adjust placing his hoof where he is comfortable, even if that is not on the pod. When standing on the pod the air-filled dome pushes upward into the horse’s hoof.

Pods can be used in front and behind and typically used two at a time. Most often pods are used in combination with Slants in the rear and pods under the front hooves. But can also be used under all four hooves.

Pods provide information on the habitual loading of the hoof, medial or lateral side, heel, toe loading are often observed as well as medial or lateral side, heel, or toe loading. Pods may roll out from under the hoof if the horse is not straight loading his weight onto the pod therefore use caution at first to see how he is loading on one hoof before adding more pods.

Rarely are there horses that progress to pods in the first session. It seems to offer some type of relief through the jaw, as the most significant horse was one who had broken her jaw prior to SURE FOOT. She stood on the pods and looked extremely comfortable both while on them and in moving afterward.

ATTENTION: Prolonged use with horses, shod, and unshod hooves may damage the pods. Therefore, they are not warranted in any way.

Genuine SURE FOOT Equine SOFT Pads are color-coded with a Blue DuraFlex top stamped with the official SURE FOOT logo, and beige foam on the reverse side. They are packaged in pairs along with a Warranty Card registration form and QR code for immediate access to the SURE FOOT Equine website for on-line product registration and education.

The SOFT Pad yields quickly to the weight of the horse and gives laterally allowing the horse to sink in rapidly, unlike the HARD Pad which gives very slowly. Using the SOFT Pad is like presenting them with a pair of bedroom slippers. Comfort is acknowledged immediately. The SOFT Pad has the most lateral give of the SURE FOOT range. They are not a good choice for nervous, panicky, or anxious horses, who need something more secure and ground-like to start.

While starting with the FIRM or HARD is always a good practice, moving quickly to SOFT is better for horses that appear to be in discomfort, who have sore hooves and/or are walking in apparent pain (from causes other than soft tissue injuries). The SOFT is not a good choice for soft tissue injuries due to the amount of instability this pad provides. In these cases, it is always important to consult with your veterinarian before starting the SURE FOOT Program. Begin with the HARD pad to avoid lateral movements and begin using SOFT pads in consultation with your veterinarian.

Pads are suitable for use on any surface with horses that are shod, barefoot, and/or wearing boots. Pads will show wear over time. Nicks, tears, and cuts are considered normal wear and tear and do not limit the effects of the pads in any way.
